Pathways Development

The CIPR is committed to expanding pathways to the legal profession for Indigenous people interested in becoming an Indigenous law and policy practitioner.

YOUNG ADVOCATES PROGRAM (YAP)

Made possible with the support of the United Way of Rhode Island, the Young Advocates Program familiarizes Indigenous youth with the legal profession, to facilitate more positive engagements with the law and justice system, and to encourage participating youth to consider the law as a viable career field to pursue.

CIPR x PLSI Partnership

The CIPR and the Pre-Law Summer Institute (PLSI) have teamed up to provide two (2) scholarships to fund all expenses for non-federally recognized incoming Indigenous law students. PLSI is an intensive two-month program that prepares American Indian and Alaska Native individuals for the rigors of law school by essentially replicating the first semester of law school.
